Time: Approximately 2 weeks (7 lessons)
Students will learn the cause and effets of a flood. They will learn the responsibility of caring for natural resources and to respect the influence and power of nature. Take home lessons seek to involce the whole family. This unit focuses on two main interactions. First is Rapid Creek's devastating effect on people during the Follod of 1972 and the resulting greenway plan for the city and its ongoing challenges. The Scond is the human effects on the creek. Various sources of pollution are identified and addressed.
