The Adelstein Gallery offers a changing schedule of art, historical and scientific exhibitions and provides a stimulating and unique atmosphere for special events.

Depending on the exhibit that is scheduled during your anticipated rental the space may accommodate up to 200 people for performance style receptions, 144 people for seated dinners and 250 for standing receptions

Wells Fargo Theater

Ideal for multimedia presentations, this area has 143 cushioned seats that face a 22’ x 28’ screen with a stereo- quality sound system. *Restricted availability during regular business hours Memorial Day - Labor Day.

The Joe Rovere Library

Located on the second floor with a wall of picture windows to provide an abundance of natural light the library is an ideal space for meetings, small receptions and presentations.  It can accommodate up to 50 seated theater style or 40 people at tables.

Overlooking the museum exhibit space the boardroom seats up to 15 people around a large conference table.

Food / Beverages
The Journey Museum & Learning Center does not have an on–site caterer, giving you the freedom to customize your event’s food service needs.  We can provide you a list of area caterers or you are welcome to provide your own food.  Coffee, bottled water and soft drinks are available for purchase.  Please see our alcohol policy below regarding our bar service. 

The Journey Museum & Learning Center can provide selected table linens and centerpieces for an additional fee for your event.

Alcohol Policy
The Journey Museum & Learning Center holds a beer and wine permit.  All laws of the City of Rapid City and the State of South Dakota apply to the serving and consuming of alcohol.  No outside alcoholic beverages may be brought into the Journey Museum and Learning Center; product must be purchased through the museum.  If you desire a full bar, including spirits and mixed drink, you will need to contract a caterer with an off-premise liquor license to serve hard liquor.  The caterer must provide a copy of their license and alcohol liability insurance policy.

The renting organization must include a disclaimer on all print materials stating “The Journey Museum & Learning Center is a
non-profit corporation that does not endorse any particular candidate or political issue.”
