Turtle Soup | Don Springetti - Dams of the Black Hills

Take a look at a variety of types of dams in the Black Hills area and explore who built them and who manages them today.  Where does the water come to fill them and who uses the water after it leaves the dam will be addressed.   

Don taught junior high and middle school in Industrial Arts and Technology for 36 years. Don has been active in his community as a long time member of the Whispering Pines Volunteer Fire Department.

Turtle Soup is a weekly lunch and learn program with revolving topics ranging from Speakers covering a broad range of intriguing topics, from Indigenous Feminism to Deadwood Archaeology and beyond. Each presentation starts with lunch being served at 11:45 PM, followed by a presentation at 12 PM. The local non-profit Fork Real Café partners with The Journey Museum & Learning Center to provide two weekly varieties of soup including a vegetarian option. Immediately following the presentation, a discussion will be held regarding that topic.
